I just have to tell it all before I lose my mind.<\/p>\n<span class=\"drop_cap\">I<\/span> often mispronounce words.<\/p>\n<p>Nope, I am not referring to common day-to-day communication. I often tense and break a sweat whenever I come across words such as <em>worcestershire, bouillabaisse or pouilly-fuisse<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Heck, I don&#8217;t even know what&#8217;s <em>pouilly-fuisse<\/em> actually refers to.<\/p>\n<p>Yup, that&#8217;s my deep dark secret &#8212; anyone dare&#8217;s judging me? Go ahead. Villagevoice compiled a long\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.villagevoice.com\/forkintheroad\/2010\/02\/43_most_mispron.php\" target=\"_blank\">list of mispronounced food words<\/a>\u00a0&#8212; many of those words are guaranteed to\u00a0shock you, like:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Sriracha (<em>See-rah-cha<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>Pho (<em>fuh<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>Paczki (<em>POONCH-key<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>Gyro (<em>YEER-oh<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>Boudin (<em>the Cajun kind, &#8220;Boo-dan&#8221;<\/em>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why can&#8217;t spelling and\u00a0pronunciation\u00a0go hand-in-hand? Not only it&#8217;s easy to pronounce, but darn easier to make as well!<\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need whole-<em>lotta<\/em> milk, some lemon juice, cheesecloth and patience. Gently heat it on medium low, stirring every now and then to avoid burn.<\/li>\n<li>Heat milk only until it begins to simmer, gently.<\/li>\n<li>Remove milk from heat.\u00a0Adding 1 tbsp of lemon juice at a time, continue stirring while hot cream begin separating from whey.<\/li>\n<li>Place a cheesecloth over a strainer. Drain cheese into cheesecloth.<\/li>\n<li>Using cheesecloth, shape cheese into a block. Do not remove it just yet. Hang cheesecloth on a handle in the kitchen for 1 hour to continue draining excess moisture. Place a bowl underneath.<\/li>\n<li>After an hour, place cheesecloth between two chopping boards. Add weight on the top. Press cheese for 2 more hours.<\/li>\n<li>Slice cheese to serve on salads, appetizers or entrees.
