Begging for a recipe. I&#8217;ve never eaten or cooked with fresh cranberries before. I have a slew of recipes that incorporates cranberries, but I wanted to begin this whole taste-testing process with a simple recipe.<\/p>\n<p>Cranberry jam\/compote\/sauce, whatever you want to call it. It&#8217;s simple and tasty \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly, I am late to the table with this recipe &#8212; cranberry sauce are famously served during\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/kirantarun.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/27\/i-am-thankful\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thanksgiving<\/a>. It is edible, with an acidic taste that can overwhelm its sweetness.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Cranberry sauce\u00a0is regarded an indispensable part of traditional American and Canadian\u00a0Thanksgiving\u00a0menus and some\u00a0European\u00a0winter festivals.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #888888;\">Cranberries are harvested in the fall when the fruit takes on its distinctive deep red color. This is usually in September through the first part of November. To harvest cranberries, the beds are flooded with six to eight inches of water above the vines. A harvester is driven through the beds to remove the fruit from the vines &#8212;<\/span><\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cranberry\" target=\"_blank\">Source<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jam&#8217;s are pretty darn easy and tastes super delicious, slathered on anything!\u00a0I allowed it to sit longer than usual, and it thickens into a nice jar of jam. It&#8217;s as good as peanut butter fingers. Heat it over medium.<\/li>\n<li>Stir often, allow cranberries to pop and thicken.<\/li>\n<li>Add cinnamon &amp; cloves. Stir constantly.<\/li>\n<li>Allow to lightly bubble &amp; thicken.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat, add orange zest, stir to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Completely cool cranberry jam before refrigeration.<\/li>\n<li>Serve it on toasts, oats, dessert toppings or even, cranberry jam fingers.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"note\">I love cranberries, slightly tart.
