WELCOME TO SHUTTERBOX ♥ Don’t bother exiting this website unless you are planning to visit KIRANTARUN DOT COM.
meHi! I am Kiran Srivastava, a blogger at C H A T T E R B ♥ X , foodie at R E C I P E B ♥ X & a self-taught photographer here at S H U T T E R B ♥ X. My husband Tarun, is a software professional. Our life, so far has been a roller coaster ride. From Malaysia and India, we begun our journey as husband and wife to America. Sadly, we left our precious treasures back in our homeland; our families and friends of course! With a new photo-blog, carrying a new identity that truly reflects who we both are, individually, the birth of S H U T T E R B ♥ X is where we plan to share our dusty photos, snippets, and experiences as we try to make it here in a foreign land.

I love photography. Especially since I am recently gifted with a brand new toy by hubby – a new, shiny and brilliant NIKON D5000! Shivers!!! Shutterbox is my journey in discovering “how the heck am I suppose to use such compact and confusing camera” 😀 It is also where I would showcase my self-proclaimed Masterpieces 😉 We are still in the midst of preparing this website with minor edits. With a promise of endless fun-filled, dull-free and awesome indulgence of drama, we welcome you to S H U T T E R B ♥ X. Have a look around, and don’t forget to say hello via comment or feel free to drop us an email @ im [at] kirantarun [dot] com. Hope you enjoy the photo’s as much as I have, clicking away!

Say Cheese!!!

Hi and welcome to Shutterbox. Thank you for your comment and encouragements. I am glad you are taking interest in photography. I am also a self-taught, so it’s a journey of self discovery. Trust me, as you continue to experiment the DSLR, you would learn along as well. Don’t be shy to use the dials instead of just sticking to “Auto” mode. All the best in your photography as well :)

Nice website…got here through the Thesis site links.
Also happen to like photography and food. Anyway, was wondering if you had any comments about the Thesis theme that you can share. Also like how you have custom fonts for all your titles and headers. Did you also subscribe to Typekit ? Would really appreciate some insight.

Welcome to Recipebox and thanks for the compliments :)

I’ve always been an avid Thesis fan and love how easy to customize their frameworks. Here are some of my thoughts:
a) I did not have any prior experience or knowledge on Thesis framework before I went ahead and bought it.
b) I had to learn a little CSS and PHP to get to the current look and feel of my blogs. It’s not difficult at all.
c) I did all the customizations on my own – often referring to Support forums and Google search.
d) You can read my personal review on using Thesis over my blog.
e) There are ample info once you join as a Thesis user – it comes with Support Forum for Members only.
f) Thesis gives free lifetime support and you can find ample useful tips to guide you over on Thesis blog and User Guide!
g) There are many tips and info out there to guide you on how to customize the site to your liking. A simple Google search often reveals many answers to your Thesis site customization questions.

The custom fonts were not from Typekit – they are handcoded as well. You just need to download the fonts and add a little css styling.

Anyone with little or NO technical knowledge can use and customize Thesis so easily. Don’t worry, if you could design a website with templates, Thesis framework is just as easy!

I am on Thesis affiliate and would be reimbursed with a small fee if you purchase Thesis using my link. I also provide blog makeover service with reasonable rates to help my customer’s build a simple, yet clean and beautiful thesis blog template. Thank you so much in advance and if you have anymore questions, please don’t hesitate to send us an email :)
