Breaking news update. Live, from my living room to yours —

We have NOT replace the broken TV for more than 2 months now. I feel a sense of accomplishment here.

Plum Tea Cakes | KiranTarun.com

The Husband has been bugging me to replace the broken TV but with all the recent and future travel plans, a new TV purchase can’t be justified. Also, it makes great sense to wait until the holiday season sale begins, right?

And surprisingly, we are doing great without a TV.

Plum Tea Cakes | KiranTarun.com

The house is much quieter. We get so much more stuff done on our to-do list, every day. I’m getting around-the-world news on the Internet anyways, so why do we need a TV?

In my opinion, all we need is a hot pot of freshly steeped tea with a few of this plum cakes. Sublime.

The TV can wait.

The only thing I’m enjoying is my viewfinder through the camera — there’s so many possibilities.

Are you a TV junkie? Do you think we are missing out?

Great news, my dear! 80% of the time spent watching TV is wasted time – I believe. I don’t think that by browsing the internet we don’t waste our time too however, we have much more control on what we want and don’t want to see/watch. It’s been 4 years without TV and it’s all good!
Beautiful mini cakes, pinning and repinning them 🙂

It’s been seven months since we haven’t watched TV and gone to the movies. It was a mutual decision. Life is now peaceful and as happy it gets 🙂 “How many lives have been wasted sitting in front of the glowing box. How many have lived vicariously through fictional characters. How many have become fabricating mockingbird parroting back the behavior of Biyonce, kim Kardeshian, Brad pit…How many souls have been lost to the incessant propaganda of war, violence, death, epathy.”

-Anyways, cakes, props, styling everything is perfect here. I always insanely adore that rustic, rural, ancient vibe coming from your food photos. Keep it up. Please don’t change your signature style.
Hugs.

You know, the more I blog and browse the web, I’m finding the TV is not really needed. The only thing I really watch is food network and friends, and then of course Betrayal and Mistresses, but the latter 2 can be watched online. It’s a nice to have, but not required in this day and age.
I’m about to bake myself.. banana bread.
I’ve never ever thought of making Plum Tea Cakes.. aren’t you a whiz?

Kudos for not getting a TV. Hubby here believes that it is a complete waste of time. Glad the boys don’t miss TV too, we don’t have any cable, I believe there’s so much more to enjoy in life. You are such an artist with your camera, that seems good enough. Loving the shots and these tea cakes look lovely.

11 Coffee and Crumpets October 18, 2013 at 1:59 PM

My husband is a tv addict and we could never live without one. I’d be ok probably. I usually only watch TV when I’m eating lunch or a snack, I do have my shows that I watch. Right now, it’s all about football, and we probably watch the most tv on Sundays these days, or whenever The Broncos are playing.
I wouldn’t mind a few of these tea cakes with my cuppa while I’m watching my shows 🙂 That’s when I enjoy my afternoon tea, and watch a bit of telly before starting dinner. These would go down a treat.

Sorry to hear about the broken TV, how about a macbook or an Ipad with Netflix or downloading shows? Wow Kiran, these tea cakes look amazing…love a bit of citrus & plums in these little cute cakes!

I’m a TV junkie all the way! I watch 1-2 shows a day, sometimes once a day. The current TV shows I’m watching are Scandal, Elementary, Wrong Mans, London Irish, Back in the Game, The Walking Dead, Agents of SHIELD, Supernatural, and the list goes on. There are loads of TV shows during the fall season!

With being able to watch everything on the internet, there isn’t really a need unless you are a sports junkey. Regarding TV? I would miss it. I seldom watch during regular TV hours but put everything on TV. Everything being what I can get from a regular old fashioned TV antennae. Yep! But still, when I can’t sleep at night I’m glad to have Martha and Julia from PBS to visit with and the occasional lucky moment when an episode of Blue Bloods comes through without constant digital interruptions from a poor signal!

I’m not getting Comcast when I move either…I’m doing fine without and just think of all the money I’m saving for food props! 🙂
