Anniversary feast

in Celebration, Orlando, Review

Yesterday was our 5th marriage anniversary! It’s been 10 years ever since we know each other, and I LOVE YOU even more. So much so, that I wound up making this fabulous oatmeal concoction for breakfast, topped with the Hubby’s favorite fruit in the world – juicy & sweet mangoes.

It was a hot oatmeal but we ate it at room temperature. Pretty hot weather in Florida these days. Either way, it’s yummy.

My favorite foods in the world includes literally having giddiness just by looking at GOD + DIVA = CHOCOLATEY heaven {no pun intended}

I have a serious knack for truffles. Chocolate truffles to be exact.

For our anniversary, we gifted each other a box of assorted truffles coupled with loads of love. Not trying to be lovey-dovey here, just being our cute selves. And just for the record, it was 1 box for the both of us. ONE!

To get my mind over the realization that it involves only ONE box of truffles, we decided to dine for dinner at our favorite Thai restaurant.

Thai Thani

Blurry photo, oopps!

If you’ve never been to Thai Thani before, well, you must. It’s a quaint restaurant, with overall-y decorative touches from Thailand. Simply beautiful artifacts all over the restaurant. Not that we mind at all ;)

Beverages: Traditional Thai Iced Coffee & Iced Tea

Appetizers: Fried Calamari

Crispy fish pieces with tangy fruit salad

If you love iced coffee, I highly recommend Thai Traditional coffee. It has a hint of smokiness and robustness from the use of several spices. The calamari met our expectations. Lightly seasoned and not at all oily, so good to the last bite. Alas, can’t express similar sentiments for crispy fish. There were hardly any fish pieces. Just a deep fried nest-y like (made of egg batter) concoction plopped on the plate. It was quite oily but the salad was super crispy, delicious, sweet and tangy. I would order the salad again, without the nest.

Love the feeling of being in Thailand, on I-Drive Orlando :)

Entree 1: Yellow Curry with Chicken

This curry is the Hubby’s all time favorite curry at Thai Thani. Mildly spiced coconut curry served over Jasmine rice. The portion was huge as well. Gotta love take-away

Entree 2: Pad Thai

And that my friends, would be my all time favorite Thai meal. Ever. Pad Thai is something I usually order whenever a Thai restaurant is visited. This is by far, the best Pad Thai we’ve tasted.

With satisfied taste-buds, full tummies, sleepy eyes and all smiles, we ended our celebrations by toasting to our future. The best is yet to come :)

Have you sampled Thai cuisine before? What are your must-haves from the menu?

Happy Annivesary Kiran! What a lovely way to spend the day…eating Thai food! I love the Thai salmon that our local place cooks up. I’m sure it’s fried in a vat full of oil but I pretend that I don’t know that. :) It helps me feel better after I’ve eaten it!

Ameena,
Thanks honey. Deep fried salmon? Something that I must try some day. Anything fried won’t be a turn off for me as well :D
