What would you do when you forgot to pack something as important as a Nikon D5000 DSLR camera and a Flip cam for a road trip to attend a major festival? For a self-taught photographer and a blogger, this type of forgetfulness is literally a nightmare! How could I ever make such mistake? Well, I’m human and aren’t we all built to make mistakes? πŸ˜‰

Are you a great packer? Or are you like me, always figuring things in the head without a list?

Anyways, it all begun with an email from an OnStar representative. Me and the hubs were invited to attend a long weekend of awesomeness: The Miami Music Festival as OnStar’s guests.

My idea of a girlfriend getaway would be me and my girlfriends ditching our daily responsibilities to our husbands, disappear to Bora Bora island, swim, relax and rejuvenate with endless massages. A wishful thinking πŸ˜‰ But thanks to Southern Chevy dealers, we were able to at least fulfill one of our dreamy getaway wish. As a Girl on the Go blogger, Mission 3 this week was about massages. How can a girl refuse one, right?

———

My girlfriend Niti and I had a tranquil massage this morning at Massage Envy, courtesy of Southern Chevy dealers :) It was a blissful pampering session. After the massage we grabbed some breakfast and discussed the massage and Malibu experience. So girly, I know ;) Niti had some remarks about the Chevy Malibu:

For a Sedan, Malibu is so spacious. Air conditioner is definitely powerful, especially in this blisteringly hot Florida weather. Love the β€œremote start” function. You need all the help you can get by climate controlling your car even before getting into the Chevy Malibu :)

Niti was a little shy to appear on the video. But she did a great job! I also shared some tips in the video for before and after getting massages:

Everyone deserves some pampering once in a while. Visit your Southern Chevy dealer in Florida, test drive any new Chevy, and receive a 1 hour complimentary massage from Massage Envy! Hello! Who doesn’t want a free massage??!!

So tell me, what is your favorite getaway?

The Girls On The Go campaign is being sponsored by Southern Chevy Dealers who gave me and the chosen bloggers a 2010 Chevy Malibu to test drive for one month and blog about our experiences using the vehicle. Girlfriend Getaway has given us some fun projects to do and provided us with gift cards to allow us to do this.

As a Girlfriend Getaway Florida’s official blogger, my experience thus far is truly amazing. Firstly, test-driving the 2010 Chevy Malibu for a month, then a TV commercial! Mind boggling, I know πŸ™‚ If you are located in the Orlando area, tune in channel WESH 2 for my hysterical commercial. For every one else around the world, families and friends, presenting Kiran with a hysterical laugh:

If you are done laughing, can I continue? πŸ˜‰

So, the Chevy Malibu week 1 mission was grocery shopping. Enjoy my post and video below and do visit our official blog to check out what other Girls on the Go are blogging about! Tell me, what do you think of my Chevy experiences thus far?

———

Mission grocery usually takes place on the day when I have to run errands such as post office, banking etc. You know, the normal homemaker drift πŸ˜‰ So how do I ensure that my produce stays fresh and cool while simultaneously running gazillion errands before I reach home? Introducing… my infamous “Coleman cooler” to the rescue!

The day normally begins by giving the hubby a ride to work. Yes, we have to share one car. But I have my Chevy Malibu for a month now, so less cat-fight with hubby for the driver’s seat πŸ˜€

I love the XM Radio powered by Bose, ease of Onstar feature and of course the heated seats for chilly winters. And the leather seats? It is not just huge but so comfortable and luxurious!

You would think that a Sedan could compromise on the overall size and space. Think again! I was amaze at the trunk size of the Chevy Malibu! It has loads of space! A ladder could easily fit onto the extended space. Enough of me blabbering, let the video speak for itself πŸ˜‰ Go easy on me folks, this is my first attempt at video editing – considered warned πŸ˜€

I tweeted a long time ago about a project in the working without any specifics. It’s time for the revelation πŸ™‚

Yesterday, I was invited to Wesh TV for the Girlfriend Getaway program and ad filming. And let me tell you,Β  my palm was literally sweating πŸ˜€ The program is all about driving the 2010 Chevy Malibu for a whole month and to blog the experiences by sharing my personal opinions. Being at Wesh TV was also a chance to meet the other talented Orlando bloggers participating in the Orlando Girlfriend Getaway promotion, thanks to our sponsors from Southern Chevy Dealers.

After a brief introduction to the program, I met my Chevy dealer, Walker Starling from Starling Chevrolet St. Cloud and said hello to my very own burgundy colored, 2010 Chevy Malibu. It would be difficult to part ways after a month. Why? See it to believe it:

Love the color!

Girlfriend Getaway has given me some fun projects to do and will be providing me with gift cards to allow me to do this. After all, nothing is better than honest opinions people! Talk about a full and fun-filled American dream. Watch this space as the drama enfolds.

This baby is mine, only for a month πŸ™

Let’s talk about Wesh TV. We filmed the ad for TV spots as well. And I was literally swimming in my pool of sweat πŸ˜€ Let me tell you, it was not easy for me being in front of the camera crew. I am generally the ONE behind the lens remember? Nonetheless, the overall experience was even greater when I was given a personal tour of Wesh’s TV station by it’s very own Ms. Debbie, the producer of Girlfriend Getaway ad TV spots. The studio is so cool, that I almost wished to be a part of their creative team. If only our immigration status was a little lenient πŸ˜‰ if you know what I mean πŸ˜€

Debbie was so gracious and I had a blast giggling around and eying the news room for a peek or two. She offered to take a picture of me posing as a news reader. Any potential? πŸ˜‰

Reporter in the making πŸ˜‰
